Getting Started
At first, you need to install and activate the MailOptin plugin. It is one of the finest WordPress email subscription plugin. Upon activation, you will find the menu MailOptin in your WordPress dashboard.
On the settings page, the user should fill the basic information under Email Campaign Settings meta box.
MailOptin plugin comes with a support for a number of email marketing providers. The user can see the list of providers under the Connections tab. One can connect any providers service from this page. For our tutorial, we are connecting to MailChimp from the Connections tab.
Next, under the Optin Campaigns tab, you will find the different optin types. Let’s choose Lightbox as our optin type. You will redirect to the Customize page where you can control the behavior of your opt-in popup.
Start Growing Your Email Subscribers
Now if you visit your front-end, you will see the opt-in pop up which asks for the email subscription.
This plugin sets the cookie for a number of days this popup will display again for users. If it is set to 1 day that means once exiting the optin, pop up will display again after the one day. A user can set this period from the Customizer page.
It’s all about the Lightbox option. You should experiment with the other optin types like in-post, notification bar etc. and check which one is best fits for your website.
